Subterranea series, 2017

Assemblage (11 pieces, mixed media, various sizes)

This work slowly percolated up from a subterranean world of personal artifacts and memory fragments. My diggings take me to my years spent in Mexico, and a strong resonance I feel with that landscape: the semi-arid high plateau of the north. Memory layers and narratives attach themselves to my sense of self. From the moment I arrived there, I felt a re-membering with that land. It called me and whispered: listen.
